The SDA debate team competed successfully at the Helix High School tournament January 28 and 29:

• Derek Marrow and George Lourov got 3rd place in policy debate
• Elliot Horen and Michael Wimsatt got 4th place in policy debate

The speech team had an outstanding performance at Golden Desert Invitational IE Tournament, Las Vegas:

• Claire Li won 2nd in International Extemporaneous, 5th in Impromptu, 5th in Duo.
• Michelle Xu won 5th in International Extemp, 5th in Duo.
• Lauren Nelson won 4th in International Extemp.

Our teams are looking forward to State Quals for Policy and Lincoln Douglas (February 18-19), UC Berkeley (February 11-14), and State Quals for Individual Events (March 4-5).
