Budget cuts – are you as fed up with hearing about them as I am?  Are you angry that our children are paying the price of a government that is willing to sacrifice future generations of Californians by further cuts? 

Did you know that it is possible to double your charitable contributions?  Can you imagine it being possible to make a donation without it costing anything?  Do you know that it is possible to find ‘free’ money?

It is possible.

Many corporations will match employee and sometimes retiree donations to charitable organizations such as SDAF.  These matches are often dollar for dollar, which doubles your charitable donation power.  A $100 donation from you can turn into $200! Think of this as free money.  

If everyone were to ask their employers to join them as a giving partner we could provide more academic support through equipment, supplies, technology, grants for student groups and teachers and much more. Please take the time to see if your employer will match your gift to the San Dieguito Academy Foundation, by checking with your Human Resources department for matching gift eligibility and program criteria.

In keeping with finding creative ways to raise money, I’d like to remind everyone to sign up for eScrip.  It is easy and costs nothing but it does bring money to the school. Simply register your grocery store customer cards on-line & designate SDA as your recipient.  With only 268 families participating, we’ve raised over $3,000 for SDA! 

One of the very real financial concerns is that there is currently not enough money in the budget to replace all the computers and related equipment that are becoming outdated or in need of repairs.  Your Foundation Board agreed unanimously that all funds received from e-script programs will be designated for technology and equipment.  Help us help your kids by signing up for eScript today.  To learn  more about eScrip go to http://sdafoundation.com/donate/escrip/ .

Another way to ‘find’ money is through grants, which is what we are trying to do through the Grants Committee of the SDAF.  The Grants Committee meets once a month and we are currently looking for people to help us research and write grants.  If you would like to learn more about this please feel free to contact me at SDAFoundation@sduhsd.net.
