SCIENCE – $ 62,000 to fund new Science equipment

Funding to purchase new science equipment (incubators, gas spectrometers, electric autoclave, chemistry probes, plankton testing nets, and an on campus weather station) and for the purchase of laptop computers with scientific software.

SCIENCE – $14,000 to purchase interactive white boards

ENGLISH – $17,000 to fund a Readers/Writing Lab on campus.

Funding for an on campus Readers/Writing Lab for students to get tutoring from college students specifically hired for this purpose. Purpose is to offset the effect of the larger class sizes in English and meet the need for more intense writing preparation by having dedicated tutors during class time.

Department goal is to make English courses and texts more relevant to students and increase the efficacy of our writing program.

Costs for the program cover hiring 2 students (2 days per week during the school year)

SILK SCREEN EQUIPMENT – $3000 to purchase new equipment for the class

LIBRARY TILE PROJECT – $2500 – Clay press for donor recognition tiles and art class projects

APPLIED TECH – $2500 – Approved purchase of web design software

STUDENT NEWSPAPER – $2000 – to help offset the cost of printing the school newspaper, The Mustang.

COUNSELING – $1580 for purchase of lap top computer for department use

LIBRARY ON-LINE SOFTWARE – $1370 Turn-it-in software for research papers

MATH – $482 for Pi Day
