1938: Football team
At the beginning of the 1937-1938 school year, students were still attending classes in the tent buildings at the Pacific View Elementary site.
"The Mustangs defeated Fallbrook in the first league game of the season. ‘Smother San Dieguto’ was the wild cry at Vista the following week at the last league game. Nevertheless, the worthy Mustangs held the Panthers to a tie. The Oceanside Pirates fell before the Mustangs in the final game of the season.
Frank Presley was voted honorary captain, while George Saden took honors for being the most valuable player of the season."
