1938: Girls' Athletic Club
"This year the G.A.C. established a new point system. As soon as it was passed by the Executive Council, Jean Davis, Alice Ley, Katherine McKenna, Ruby Conley, Evelyn Wilson, Rachel Remmele, and Atsuko Chuman received their block letters and were entitled to sweaters. They chose a white sweater with navy blue block letter and stripe.
The G.A.C. aided the Lettermen in the first annual sports dance given in the new auditorium. Next, the girls sold candy during the faculty series to raise money to furnish the girls’ clubroom. They bought a ping-pong set and sponsored games during activity periods.
The formal initiation was held December 9. Those initiated into the G.A.C. were: Helen Dunham, Roberta Lienhard, Miriam Milholland, Evelyn Teten, and Mary Ann Wiegand."
