“Back In Time” put the fun back into fundraising

Were you wondering where those DeLoreans were going a couple of weeks ago? They were going back to the future a la Marty McFly, to our 17th Annual Dinner Dance and Auction!

This year’s theme, “Back In Time,” gave the perfect excuse for many of our parents to dig deep into their closets (some not as deep as others) for the leisure suits, leg-warmers, and shoulder pads of their youth… and to comb their hair into mullets.

Over 200 people came out to hear our SDA Jazz Ensemble, nibble on food from the Roxy, and have a great time with old friends and new, bidding on everything from language lessons from our own SDA faculty to vacations in Costa Rica.

This year’s Fund-A-Need was focused on the 21st Century Classroom and raised enough money to purchase enough Chromebooks for an entire classroom. By the end of the evening, this was our most successful fall fundraiser dinner auction, both in money raised for our students and in fun shared by our parents and guests.

Many thanks for all who came out and for all those volunteers who made the evening possible. We’ll post more photos below as we get them. (If you have photos of the event you’d like to share, send them to us at sdafoundation [at] sduhsd [dot] net.
