Unfortunately, the San Clemente Jazz Festival has been cancelled. This event was scheduled for Saturday, May 5th. Please adjust your calendars.

The Inaugural San Dieguio Jazz Festival was a great success. Congratulations to the SDA Advanced Jazz Band on their Unanimous Superior rating. Thank you to the many students and parents who contributed to this event. We hope to host the event next year. The tentative date for the festival is Saturday, 4/20/13.

The San Dieguito HS Academy Music Department invites you to join us at our inaugural San Dieguito Jazz Festival on Saturday, April 21st. Jazz groups from the San Dieguito Union HS District schools will perform in SDA’s brand new Clayton E. Liggett Theatre, along with one group from the Encinitas Union School District. Student performances begin at 8:00 AM, and continue throughout the day until 3:30 PM. Admission to this adjudicated music festival is free for all guests. The school is located at 800 Santa Fe Drive in Encinitas, CA. Concessions will be available for purchase all day, including a hot dog lunch.

The Coastal Cities Jazz Band will perform a free concert from 12:30 to 1:15 PM in our outdoor amphitheater, weather permitting. The Coastal Cities Jazz Band was brought together at the end of 1997. This band consists of 17 members who enjoy the art of playing in the style of a big band/Jazz, and are some of the finest musicians in San Diego County. The top high school soloists will be invited to perform with the Coastal Cities Jazz Band on one musical selection. There is open seating on a grassy hill, so feel free to bring a blanket or beach chair!

All proceeds from this event will benefit the music programs at San Dieguito HS Academy.
