This page provides information about the various Honor Band opportunities available to SDA band members.
SDUHSD Honor Bands: Each year the finest musicians from our local MS & HS music programs are selected, by audition, to participate in a weekend of Honor Band activities. The final outcome of these activities is our SDUHSD Honor Band concert. Next year’s tentative dates for the SDUHSD Honor Band activities are as follows: Monday, 1/14 – auditions. Fri-Sun, 2/9-10, Honor Band Weekend. Please check back in Fall 2012 for updated information.
All-State HS Honor Band & Honor Jazz Band: open to current members of the SDA band program. Students selected to one of these honor groups will perform at the California Band Directors Association (CBDA) convention, to be held in Fresno on the weekend of 2/16 – 2/19/12. The application deadline is generally around December 1. Be sure to visit http://cbda.org for more information!
SCSBOA All-Southern California Honor Groups: Each year the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) provides the finest young instrumentalists in southern California with opportunities to rehearse with some of the most outstanding music educators in the world.
