Emily was known to her family and friends as a loving, kind, warm and generous woman. She was full of life and loved her girls so much. Emily passed at home with her family by her side, husband Steve Hudson and her daughters Brenda, Andrea and Kathleen. Emily and Steve, also SDHS Class of ’88, met up again 24 years after graduation. They were married four days after they found out she was in stage three cancer. Emily will be missed dearly by so many of the lives she changed, and she will be forever in our hearts.

Athena lived an exciting life of travel where she worked as a flight attendant almost immediately out of high school up until her passing. By working for the airlines it allowed her to explore what the world had to offer, and in turn make her impact during her short stay. As the years added up so did her seniority where she was able to keep a consistent line to Hawaii. This also allowed her to start a family where she got to raise a son for the first few years of his life. Fast forward to present day… her son just graduated high school. He will now start his journey of adventure with the same excitement and love that his mother once had. We hope her big smile will guide the way for him and all of you in your adventures through life.

“On April 21, 2017, Eric Blaine Keiki O ke kai (Child of the Sea) Reno died of heart failure astride his surfboard among the waves at the front door of his home in Sunset Beach, California. Loved of family, community, and paw-pet Angus, this Sons of Mothers guitarist and member of the Mustangs surf club proudly carried the San Dieguito athletic banner through high school and beyond. Quiet of manner, still as a reflecting pond, we remember him fondly as a man with a heart as big as the ocean.”
