Evalo Harrison Blackley

Evalo Blackley passed away in her sleep on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the age of 81. She was born in Provo, Utah the daughter of Vivian and Edna Harrison. She is survived by her two sons, Glen and Todd; her son-in-law, Jeff Adams; her sister, Edna Merry Wilcock; and her sister-in-law, Doris King. Ev’s husband, Glen Leon and her daughter, Karen, predeceased her. She has six grandchildren: Haydn Adams, Kayln McClure, Erika Papac, Shay Blackley, Madison Blackley, and Brian Donovan. Her latest joy was her 3 year old great granddaughter, Keylee Papac.
Raised in Provo, she and Glen married after his service in the Korean War. After he graduated from college, they moved to California where they lived in Eureka, Santa Rosa and Hayward before settling in Cardiff in 1961. After her children were in school Ev started Palomar Junior College and then on to San Diego State where she completed a Masters in English. During this time she was active in several plays with the San Dieguito Little Theater. She taught English and Speech for several years at San Dieguito High School.
During free time, she and Glen loved to spend time in Borrego Springs and Rosarito Beach where they had small homes. She loved to visit new places and explore different cultures. Altogether they visited 49 countries. What memories she had of her travels!
She will be interred in a private service at El Camino Memorial Park.
