George A. “Sandy” Milne III
August 30, 1939 – February 9, 2016
CORONADO / CARLSBAD George Alexander Milne III, “Sandy” was born on August 30, 1939 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and died in Encinitas on February 9, 2016 due to complications of prostate cancer.
George graduated from Coronado High School and Fresno State University with a teaching credential. He taught school in Reedley, Escondido, and Encinitas. He was a dedicated and much loved teacher at Digueno Junior High and at San Dieguito Academy High School in Encinitas. He was widely admired by his family, students, soccer players, friends, and colleagues for his warmth, caring, generosity, and outrageous humor.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 21st, from 2pm to 5pm at San Dieguito Heritage Museum, 450 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas. Donations may be made in his name to San Dieguito High School Foundation at https://sdafoundation.com
