{"id":2,"date":"2015-10-06T17:33:19","date_gmt":"2015-10-06T17:33:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sdafoundation.com\/boysvolleyball\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2023-12-15T18:19:15","modified_gmt":"2023-12-15T18:19:15","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sdafoundation.com\/boysvolleyball\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Information for Prospective Athletes<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>San Dieguito Academy High School Boys Volleyball is a Division I sport.\u00a0 The team plays in the Avocado West league which includes teams from the following schools:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>El Camino High School<\/li>\n<li>San Marcos High School<\/li>\n<li>Mission Vista High School<\/li>\n<li>Oceanside High School<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SDA will also play several non-league games against teams across the county.<\/p>\n<p>SDA typically fields a varsity and two junior varsity boys volleyball teams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<br \/>\n<\/strong>Volleyball is a spring season sport.\u00a0 In order to try out for volleyball at SDA, players must first obtain an athletic clearance which includes a sports physical.\u00a0 Information regarding the process can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/sdaathletics\/athletic-clearance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on the SDA Athletics website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All student athletes must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 during the previous grading period in order to be eligible to participate on a team.\u00a0 Any player who is absent from school cannot participate in any team activities that same day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice<br \/>\n<\/strong>Practice attendance is vital to the development of the player and the success of the team. Players are expected to attend all practices. Players are responsible for contacting their coach prior to any missed practices.
