Varsity Head Coach Jamie Schnick Jamie has been working with young swimmers and competitors for his entire life, including as an assistant swim coach, junior lifeguard instructor, youth soccer coach, camp counselor and a dad.\u00a0 He has also been a competitive swimmer for decades.\u00a0 Jamie started swimming as a U6 swimmer in summer league, and continued as an AAU competitive swimmer in Baltimore Md., he swam 4 years at Calvert Hall high school, and 2 years at SDSU, after college Jamie swam with UCSD masters swim team where he trained and competed in open water competitions for over 20 years.\u00a0 Here is a list of some of his accomplishments:<\/p>\n Varsity Assistant Coach Luke Seed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Luke’s journey in competitive swimming began at age 8, leading to national rankings, multiple age-group records, CIF championships, High School All-American honors, and culminating as an 8x NCAA DII finalist. Last year, he took on the role of Varsity Assistant Coach for the SDA team, marking the start of my coaching career. <\/p>\n\n\n\n As a coach, his philosophy centers on achieving balanced athletic and extracurricular goals through modern training methods. Luke is committed to fostering a love for swimming, recognizing its long-term benefits for mental and physical health. His approach is tailored to help swimmers excel in the pool and beyond, emphasizing dedication, balance, and resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Junior Varsity Coach Jenn Lofft<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Jenn Lofft has built her career around supporting youth in a variety of capacities. lifeguard and swim instructor early in her career. She began her competitive swim experience as a young age group swimmer and swam competitively through high school at Mira Mesa High. She swam with the masters team at UCSB and also at ASU while getting her masters. She enjoyed training and competing in open water swimming including several La Jolla Gatorman races and countless triathlons. Though she has largely hung up her own goggles in favor of drier pursuits, she is excited to be on deck with SDA\u2019s swim team and is looking forward to supporting the training, technique and courage that are key pieces of a fun and memorable high school swim experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
