Throughout Europe, track &amp; field is commonly known as \u201cAthletics.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three SDA Track &amp; Field program objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Create a challenging environment that encourages the student-athlete to learn and apply the principles of <strong>GRIT<\/strong> to achieve the best possible outcomes in track &amp; field as well as in life: <br><br><strong>G<\/strong>oals \u2013 set a direction<br><strong>R<\/strong>esilience \u2013 overcome obstacles<br><strong>I<\/strong>nitiative \u2013 make it happen <br><strong>T<\/strong>enacity \u2013 fight for it<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><br>&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Develop better athletes that can reach their full potential through training all of the five bio-motor skills not only over the current season but over multiple years:<br>\u2022 <strong>Speed <\/strong>\u2013 apply proper force to ground and improve running mechanics<br>\u2022 <strong>Strength<\/strong> \u2013 maximize amount of force body can produce<br>\u2022 <strong>Flexibility<\/strong> \u2013 improve joints range of motion<br>\u2022 <strong>Endurance <\/strong>\u2013 increase amount of time performance can be held<br>\u2022 <strong>Coordination<\/strong> \u2013 perform combination of required movement patterns<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Gain confidence as an athlete as well as a person through a commitment to staying in the present and making the most of each moment in training as well as competition<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2025 Meet Schedule<\/span><\/strong> *2026 meet schedule to be updated in Jan\/Feb*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visit our team page on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.athletic.net\/team\/1402\/track-and-field-outdoor\/2025\" data-type=\"URL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Athletic.net<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.athletic.net\/team\/1402\/track-and-field-outdoor\/2024\" data-type=\"URL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> <\/a>to view the 2026 Meet Schedule, season records and other updates from the coaches. Join <a href=\"https:\/\/athletic.net\/join-team\/9K67HWUM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> if you are new to the team, code 9K67HWUM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Communication and Team Administration<\/u><\/strong> <br>Athletes should communicate directly with their primary \u201cevent coach\u201d for any concerns or absences. If needed, please contact the Head Coach &#8211; Sheryl Bode. The Track Team Parent will send out email updates regarding meets, volunteers needed, fundraising events, team photo reminders, etc..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Uniforms<\/u><\/strong><br>In early spring, each athlete will be issued five uniform pieces: singlet, warm-up jacket, shorts, warm-up pants and duffel bag.&nbsp; Practice t-shirts, which athletes can keep, will be handed out sometime after in early March. If uniforms are lost or damaged, fees will apply and be entered in Aeries. At the end of the season, please return uniforms clean and without sticker residue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2026 Uniform Check Out form can be downloaded from this <strong>link<\/strong> (link to be updated in Jan\/Feb).
