Stephen Paul Allen of Borrego Springs died September 6, 2006, after along illness.
He was born September 15, 1961 in Houston, TX. He graduated from San Dieguito High School; earned a B.A. degree from the University of San Diego and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin. He taught at the University of Texas and briefly at the University of San Diego.
Surviving are his parents, the Rev. Fr. John Brendan Allen and Joan Allen of Borrego Springs; brothers, Mark Allen of Seattle, Dave Allen of Encinitas, a sister and brother-in-law, Meredith and Michael Pratt of Borrego Springs, and special friends Phil Henry of Borrego Springs, Paul Teipel of Vancouver, WA and Jennifer Vause of Solana Beach.
Services were held St. Michael Orthodox Church, Whittier, CA.
