Donate, Volunteer or Support Our Activities
Every year alumni volunteer their time, expertise, and/or money to support San Dieguito High School Academy. Through these generous gifts, dedicated alumni help San Dieguito maintain its excellent reputation, ranked highly in lists like Newsweek’s “Top Public High Schools in America.”
There are many ways to support your alma mater:
A gift of cash
Your gift to the SDA Foundation supports the Alumni Association’s efforts to preserve the proud traditions and history of San Dieguito. Donations made to the San Dieguito Academy Foundation (a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit) qualify as an income tax deduction.
You may donate online with our PayPal button. If you prefer to donate via check, please make it out to SDAF and write “Alumni” in the memo. Send it to:

Gift of appreciated securities
You will avoid capital gains, qualify for a charitable income tax deduction and be recognized for the full value of the securities on the day the shares leave your account. Contact SDAF Executive Director, Sarah Givens by email telephone (760-753-1121, ext 5152), for information on how to have shares transferred electronically.
Planned Giving
While current gifts are needed to support programs at San Dieguito, gifts from your will or estate plan are also welcome. Please consider the following ways to support San Dieguito in the future.
- Name SDA Foundation in your will. Consider leaving a specific percentage of your estate to SDA Foundation to fund future needs or to build our endowment.
- Name SDA Foundation as a contingent beneficiary of your IRA or pension plan.
- Name SDA Foundation as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy that your family no longer needs.
- Gift your home to SDA Foundation through your will or estate plan.
By notifying the SDA Foundation that you are making a gift from your will or estate plan, you will become a member of the San Dieguito Pioneer Society. You will be invited to an annual event honoring members, and your generosity will be acknowledged on the Pioneer Society plaque on the San Dieguito campus. For details on planned giving, contact:

Donate your time
Volunteering is a rewarding activity that directly benefits current students as well as your fellow alumni. Here are some of the ways you can volunteer:
- Work with your class on a reunion committee or as a class representative. (For a list of current class representatives, see this page.)
- Join the Alumni Committee and help plan our Founders Day Reception, Faculty & Staff Reunion, and other alumni events and fundraisers. (To join, email us!)
- Provide career advice and offer life experience to students in classroom settings. (If you are interested, be sure to let us know.)
- Collect and track San Dieguito memorabilia and memories. For more information on our memorabilia recollection project, see this page.
- Help us assemble newsletters! (To volunteer with our newsletters, email us here.)
Sponsor our newsletter
Many of our alumni do not have computer access and prefer to receive their twice-yearly newsletters in print.
Unfortunately, postage and printing costs continue to climb. We’ve managed to keep costs low with volunteer support in assembling the newsletter, but we typically pay between $1500 and $2000 per newsletter. And yet, we do not require membership dues. We subsist on donations.

Level 1
$1500/issue
Newsletter, website and Facebook mention. Your name or company banner (200 px wide or high) and link to your website. Promotional post of at least 200 words about your company on the Alumni website. Link to your website with note about your support on our Facebook page.
Level 2
$750/issue
Website and Facebook mention. Your name or your company’s logo (150 px wide or high) and link to your website. 100 word description noting your support on our supporter page. Facebook mention with link to our websites supporter page.
Level 3
$375/issue
Website mention. Your name or your company’s name with link to your website. 25 word description noting your support on our supporter page.
