RSVPs are now closed (except for Founders, those who graduated 60 years or more ago). So if you you aren’t on the list below, we won’t have a badge for you. No Badge… No Entry. (Unless you are a Founder!)

If you really want to go but haven’t RSVPd, you might take your chance by waiting outside the Library/Media Center/Learning Commons for cancellations. But the forecast is for HOT WEATHER and we don’t recommend it.

CHRIS IS NOT PERFORMING.

A rumor is going around that this will be a concert. NOT TRUE.

The Hall of Fame is our chance to honor Chris. We’re not asking him to work but rather to sit back and receive accolades from his alma mater and home town. We will not ask him to perform.

STARTING TIME & PARKING

Our most senior alumni get first priority to park in the front parking lot. They should arrive between 1 and 1:30. We will provide an electric cart to transport those who have difficulties walking.

Hall of Fame guests can look for parking in the front lot after 1:30. The Hall of Fame Induction will start at approximately 3:15 pm.

Remember! The Last Bell Parking Jam always starts about 2:30 and goes on to 3:30. If you try to park in the front lot at that time… ay yi yi!

So come early and enjoy the Founders Reception.

If you can’t find parking in the front lot, you’ll have to park on the street and hike in. You are welcome to drop people off in the front lot before you find parking. You are welcome to look for parking in the other lots on campus but again, your Parking Karma will be better if you come early.

In the Library (AKA Media Center AKA Learning Commons) on campus.

We are honored to announce the 2019 Hall of Fame Inductee: Chris Hillman (‘62)!

Chris co-founded the Byrds in 1964 (with David Crosby and Roger McGuinn). The Byrds had a number of hit songs, including “Turn! Turn! Turn!” and “So You Want to be a Rock Star.”

A major player in the Flying Burrito Brothers and later in Stephen Stills’ band Manassas, Chris has been called “one of the godfathers of country-rock.” He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. (Read more about Chris — or see his schedule of concerts — at his website here.)

We will induct Chris into the Hall of Fame at the end of our Founders Reception, October 24. All are invited to come to the Founders Reception at 1:30 pm to meet Chris Hillman prior to the induction ceremony at 3 pm.

The Hall of Fame Induction ceremony is always held at the end of the Founders Reception; so we encourage our guests to come early for the free Founders Reception in order to meet our Hall of Famer AND avoid the traffic jam created when the final bell rings!

This event is FREE. Please note: Chris will NOT be performing at this event.

• Founders Reception: 1:30 to 3:00 pm (click here for more info on this event)
• Hall of Fame Induction: 3:15 pm Please see note at bottom of page about parking*)

Both events will be held in the Library / Media Center / Learning Commons on campus.

*Parking is always an issue between 2:45 and 3:30 because the school bell rings at 3:10. Parents begin to fill the front parking lot as early as 2:30 and the parking lot becomes a zoo until at least 3:30. We recommend that you avoid the crunch and come early to the Founders Reception.
