Winter Ball Practice Update – Monday 1/4/16

I hope everyone had a great couple weeks off for the holidays and are having a great start to 2016! Looks like the El Nino rainy season is here, we are expecting rain the next 4 days and that of course will keep us off the field. Tomorrowwe will be working out, looks like the rain might not be in until tomorrow night so we will be on the field! IF it does rain I will be taking the boys into the weight room and then into a classroom.

We will go 3:30pm-5:00pm tomorrow Frosh through Varsity.

I will be sending a email tomorrow by 12:00pm with the schedule for the next month!

Thanks,
Carlos Fletes

SDA Baseball Update – Winter Program

SDA Baseball Families,

This week concludes the SDA Fall Baseball program. The Winter Ball program will start on Monday Jan 4, 2016. I will send schedule details as we get closer. The Winter Ball is run as an out of season camp just like the Fall program.
The Winter program runs for 7 weeks (1/8/16 to 1/19/16). The cost of the Program is $125.00.

The following items are Mandatory for participation:

1. Each player must have a valid AAU membership with the Added benefit option. We will need a copy of your valid membership number/card. If you DO NOT have a membership card
you can register at  http://www.playaaubaseball.com/join-aau

click on the JOIN AAU-Register today button. Again, you
will need to purchase the Added Benefit option which is needed for Baseball. You want to purchase the Youth baseball membership for $16.00.

2. We will also need from each player the waiver from the School District (see forms page: Baseball Forms).  Please print this waiver out, sign it and bring this document as well.

3. The cost of the Winter program is $125.00. Please make your checks out to SDA Foundation and please put Baseball in the note section of your check. You can give checks to Megan in the Athletic office. You can also give checks to me or Greg Vela. I will be at the field tomorrow during practice as well as at the games on Sat at Mission Vista High. Otherwise we will collect them before the first Winter practice.
NOTE: If your player participated in the Fall program, their waver and AAU insurance is already noted and good for Winter Ball.
We thank you for your support and your patience on these items. If you have any question please let me know. I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday break.

Go Mustangs!

SDA Baseball – Farmer’s Open Fundraiser Ticket Sale

Hello SDA Baseball Families.
It’s that time of year…
GolfTix1
The first real fundraiser of the season is upon us. SDA Baseball will again be selling discounted Farmers Insurance Open tickets. This is historically one of the main sources of funding for our program so I encourage all the players to do their best to participate in this effort. This is my 4th and final year handling this fundraiser (my son is a senior) so if any other parent is interested in taking over, I welcome your assistance!

The Farmer’s Insurance Open is a top-tier PGA tournament held each January at Torrey Pines in San Diego. This year’s tourney runs January 28 – 31st.
We are selling these tickets under a program called “Support our San Diego,” or S.O.S.D. Supporters benefit in 2 ways – they’re saving $$ off the retail ticket cost AND giving back in a big way. It’s the perfect season for gifting so hopefully the timing will assist your player in making those sales.

TICKET PRICING & SALES
For each $35 discounted ticket sold, $25 comes right back to SDA. And, of that $25, 10% is directed to our school’s foundation and a full 90% comes right back to baseball. That means every ticket sold by SDA baseball makes $22.50 for the program!

Preferred method of payment is by check (easier to track). Checks should be written out to SDAF with “baseball” noted in the memo line. Cash is also accepted. Sorry but credit cards are not accepted this year.

Comparatively, retail/online tickets purchased directly through the Tournament cost $40 until January 1, 2016, at which time the ticket price will rise to $50. This means that those who purchase tickets from our players will not only be benefitting a great cause, but will also be receiving a $5-$15 discount off of the Tournament ticket.

OUR TICKET SALES BEGIN 12/05/15 and RUN UNTIL THE 01/14/16 DEADLINE.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email/call/text me.
Thanks for your support. GO MUSTANGS!
