2018 Hall of Fame Inductee: John Fairchild (’61)

San Dieguito High School Basketball vs Vista, February 1937. San Dieguito High opened in 1936 and this was the basketball team’s Inaugural Season.

Coach Jason Stewart and SDA Basketball recognized SDA student athletes who made up the 2015-2016 Academic All Star Team for Boys Basketball. Each of these players maintained a 4.0 or higher GPA. The players who were honored at the year-end banquet held on March 27 were Nick Sando, Jayce Cannon, Jacob Bear, Alex Bright, Daniel Chagnon, Devin Gaan, and Andrew Naimark.

SDA Basketball families played host to 11 basketball players from the Aussie Basketball Travelers as they visited San Diego for five days in 2014.

Senior Night 2021

SDA beat Sage Creek 57-55 at home on 5/22/21 to move to 11-5 (5-3 in league) for the 2021 season.

SDA Varsity 2021

John Fairchild, Class of 1961, went on to play at BYU and then was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. He had a successful 7 year career in the NBA.

Sean McDonnell, class of 2013, went on to play at NAIA D1 Westmont College and then professionally in Spain.

SDA went 19-9 in the 2012-2013 season. They were led by Seniors Sean McDonnell (21.7 ppg), Jonathan Viles (11.9 ppg), Jack Hagen (11.5 ppg), Duncan MacPhee (6.7 ppg), and Junior Ty Gibson (4.2 ppg).
