Caroline Madden, Assistant Coach
Morgan Hartness, JV CoachMorgan Hartness grew up in Encinitas and began playing water polo at age 10 with the Del Mar Water Polo Club, where he competed for five years. He earned a spot on the La Costa Canyon High School varsity team as a freshman and was honored with The Maverick Award for exceptional sportsmanship. As a senior captain, Morgan led the Mavericks to a Division 2 CIF Championship. He now continues his water polo career playing for the Palomar College Comets.
Outside the pool, Morgan values his time at his home church, Redemption North County, where he serves as a youth group leader and also leads a weekly Bible study. His passion for teaching naturally carries into his coaching—he loves watching athletes discover the same excitement for the game that shaped his own journey. Morgan is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge and love for water polo with both new and experienced players.
When he’s not training or studying, you can find Morgan surfing, spearfishing, fishing, or enjoying anything that gets him out on the water.
