If you’ve visited our Mustang Legacy Project bricks recently you may have noticed a few weeds (thanks to the much-needed rain we had this winter) and gum splotches on the bricks. Definitely not our best look.
Have no fear, the Brick Cleanup Crew is here! The call was sent out yesterday and Cindy Korwin Thorpe (’65) was the first to arrive. Sue Sieber Cooper (’66 and Alumni Committee Chair) brought grandkids Ericka and Daniel and an assortment of yard tools. I brought my broom, Ginsu knives and Krud Kutter, which turns out to be excellent at removing gum.
We spent a little time this morning spiffing things up, mostly removing weeds and gum. Our next step is to wash the bricks (more Krud Kutter, anyone?), touch up any faded black lettering, and seal the bricks after they dry out.
After a good two hours of work we had a great lunch at Mr. Peabody’s. Mud Pie is an excellent post-brick cleanup dessert!
If you’d like to join our next Brick Cleanup Crew, let me know via email and I’ll let you know about the next one!
