The Coastal Communities Concert Band is presenting its annual Salute to Young Musicians Concert this Sunday at 2 PM in the SDA Gym. This concert features SDUHSD musicians who have been nominated by their respective directors. The high school students perform alongside the community band members, which is a real treat. AND, our very own Sergio Miragliotta will be featured in a solo performance with the band.
Admission is free for students, $20 for adults, and $15 for seniors.
The Wind Ensemble I auditions for the 2019-2020 school year for incoming students are Wednesday, May 29 from 3:30 – 5:30pm in the SDA Band Room. Click here to sign up for an audition time.
Here are the audition instructions and requirements for incoming students of any grade level.
I. Chromatic scale (full range, ascending and descending) and 2 major scales
selected at random. Full range scales preferred, but not required.
II. One 2-3 minute solo excerpt of your choosing.
I. 2 major scales selected at random. 2 octaves, alternate sticking.
II. 2-3 minutes of solo material. May be any combination of snare, mallet, or
timpani excerpts.
SDA Music Council has Farmers Insurance Open tickets for sale. The open is January 25-27, 2019.
Tickets are $35 each and $25 is donated back to the program! The tickets are good for one day admission during any day of the tournament, including preview day and opening day.
Retail is $45/adult, BUT if you check out the Farmer’s Insurance Open website, you’ll see that the $45 price is if you select a specific day. The “any day” tickets are $65 so it’s quite the discount.
We have until the beginning of January or until supplies last. Let your friends and family know! Only cash or check made out to SDAF will be accepted for this fundraiser.
